MY EXPERIENCE

what i found

My undergraduate major was in animation, where I developed a solid foundation in 3D design and animation production. Through creating several short 3D animation projects, I learned the complete workflow from modeling, lighting, and texturing to animation and rendering. Working with tools such as Cinema 4D helped me understand how spatial structure, materials, and lighting interact to shape the final visual outcome.

This experience made me realize that 3D design is not only about technical execution but also about building a believable visual environment. Every small adjustment—such as light direction, surface texture, or camera movement—can significantly affect how an audience perceives the scene.

NARRATIVE AND VISUAL

what i learn

While producing short 3D animations, I gradually became more aware of the role of storytelling in visual design. Animation is not simply about moving objects; it is about communicating an idea or emotion through movement, composition, and timing.

I learned that strong visual storytelling often comes from simplicity. Clear scene composition, focused camera angles, and intentional motion can guide the viewer’s attention more effectively than overly complex visual effects. This insight shaped my approach to later design projects, where clarity and communication became central priorities.

INSIGHTS

from 3d animation to design thinking

Working with 3D animation also influenced how I approach design problems today. Creating animated scenes requires thinking about space, user perspective, and interaction over time. These aspects naturally translate into digital product design and interface thinking.

This background helped me develop a spatial and dynamic way of thinking about visual systems. Instead of designing static images, I tend to consider how elements behave, transition, and interact within a system. This perspective continues to inform my current work in visual and UI/UX design.
